well I finally started writing the report (figure it'd be a good time since it's due next week and it's 40% of the course mark). I'm in the introduction section just writing some history on SS. I found that after VIE killed the billing server iNet stepped up as the new billing server, does anyone know what iNet is and who runs it? and is it still the billing server?

iNET (http://www.inet.fi) is a Finland based ISP.
One of its employees, at the time, was also a SubSpace player called Baudchaser.
Naturally like everyone else he was addicted to the game.
Near the end of VIe he used his position to have iNET host servers and he placed all of VIE's zones on them, naturally it also run the biller for all those zones on it, which eventually became the SSC biller as everyone went to play on those zones and it got to contain everyone's aliases.
Later on he founded the SubSpace Council (before it got all corrupted) as well as the DeathStar Battle zone.
For years he was iNET's Liazone for SubSpace untill eventually he left the scene and another employee BD Vine has replaced him (but he didn't fit into his shoes).
About a month ago iNET (AKA Sonera) has announced their plans for all the games hosted by them.
Apperantly since SS was consuming more money than it was making (zero $$) they've decided to stop the hosting for it.
This really doesn't matter to SS as a whole, since they had ussually shitty servers, and only Trench Wars and DSB and few other inconsequential zones were on them (I dun care TW and DSB got lots of pop, they're newb zones full of newbs who can't play anything but them and won't even bother to learn SVS or any other zone that isnt a hit or two = death).
So now they've gone and bought a new server to run on, but they can't afford it for long and without major donations they're going down.
Untill that degeneration iNET servers were responsible for perserving SS and the SVS heritage (Chaos, Warzone, Jackpot all the great ones were on it with mad population once VIE bunkrupted).
Nevertheless, Baudchaser is a good man who has done a lot for SS.

As for SSCE and SSCX, those are Xalimar's servers, so to say.
Xalimar is an Exodus employee, and of course a SubSpace player (ussualy can be found in powerball) and those servers are hosted on Exodus's servers located in various parts of...america? world? whatever.
