I have heard too much about the original gfx being somebody else's property... any news or efforts to replace them?

0.38 will NOT load any images from dlls anymore (minus ekted's default menu), so thats how its handle. Of course, some websites may offer the file with extracted images, but thats each website's own choice.

Go to www.subspacedownloads.com and download the gfx you like... I don't see what your question is about? Why replace them?

The usage of the original GFX is permitted per client.
When you bought SS you bought the liscence to use that GFX.
Since we've been distributing the SS client illegaly, hence the GFX, I see no biggy in using them currently as well.
But if it is really being asked for, I suggest we use ZigNotZag's shipsets for default, they rock.
