I am setting up a client/server network for a school but have limited knowledge with such. There are going to be aprox 20 computers on the network and most will have a P4 1.8Ghz, 512Mb Ram, 30Gb Hard Drive. What specs should the server be and what else will I need to get this set up.

Anyway, you left out the most important part: what is the server supposed to do?

i assume run a ss server on a lan... in which case any of the p4s will probably do, right? assuming its connection speed to the lan is sufficient...
