i need to know how to get continuum working over a router before i can get the server to work. i'm using a alcatel speedtouch pro (a 4-port ethernet router) and the computer is connected via a usb to ethernet network cable.

It can surf the internet via IE but continuum can do anything and shows all zones in red but if a green one pops up, its ping is over 3000!

u can now see why i need help! What can be done to solve this problem?

can you play continuum when your computer is directly connected to the cable/dsl modem? you should test this before you assume that it's a router problem. if so, you might try making your computer part of the dmz. in order for it to accept connections once it's a server, you will have to do this anyway, or forward your ports to the appropriate IP. See if you can trace the zones listed, and come back with more information.

i should have said the computer is connected to the dsl router. icon_smile.gif as i said its a 4-port ethernet dsl router

when i do trace it has 3 hops and thats the end. hop 1 is the router and the other 2 are blank. i know there are more than 3 hops to get to the trench wars server!

so something is still wrong icon_sad.gif

(whats the dmz?)

if you can plug your computer directly into the cable modem and then see if you can play continuum, that would be helpful, because then we would be able to tell if the problem is with your router. if it is, then we can probably help you (or tell you what's wrong anyway). if it's not your router, then it's your isp's port blocking, and we can't do much about that.
