On the main pc (where router is originating, without any password access required), I can't find the router. It's a linksys, and I've searched through and through the device manager, and can't seem to find linksys anywhere, and when/if I do find it, how am I supposed to go about opening up ports?

TIA

Katie

I have one too, and i access the router via http://192.168.1.1/ then i enter the password i have set for it. Then in the Forwarding section, you would set the port ranges of your [Misc] Port number to one plus that to forward UDP's to your computer's IP.

Example: In server.ini, [Misc] Port=5722. I got to the Forwarding page, and enter the two port ranges, 5722 and 5723. I select it to forward UDP only (its ok if you do TCP & UDP) to my machine's ip. To get my machine's ip, i do Start->Run, cmd.exe, then in the dos prompt, i type ipconfig. It should give you your machine's ip, probably something like 192.168.1.100. I set that 102 into the router's ip block, and then click Apply.

So then to access it, I just type in the ip of the main pc into the browser?

TIA

Does it require any software? Maybe a VPN connection? Is the router your property or managed by the ISP?

Note that some routers reside on http://10.0.0.138/ (Usually VPN though)

your router most likely (if you haven't set it not to) gives your network its ip's. So on any machine on your home network, run the command prompt, then type ipconfig /all (for xp at least) and it will tell you your dhcp server's ip address. that's your router.
