| hey I created a shipset...took a screenshot of a ship from game. had some stars around it and the background has to be black so i used the brush in paint and took out the stars...now in subspace, i can see those pixels sometimes when flying over anything thats not black, not very many but some, so my shipset aint perfect.....how can i get rid of them? since i cant use the brush and fill in the entire background..... |

| If you use a good image editor like Photoshop you can select all the black using magic wand, and see the pixels you missed. |

Feel free to upload your shipset as a png or inside a zip file.
Another good method, since most people use 256 color bitmaps, is to edit the palette, and replace the real black with something like pink or green, then you'll see all the little blobs of the fake black. |

thanks for the help. but when you say edit the pallette can this be done with paint?
im downloading paint shop pro, 30 megs, do you know if this can do what you suggested with photoshop?
also can i post a help wanted with a zone on this board? im doing everything myself but i need help with a map. its for a star trek zone, something i think is missing from continuum. ive done a great ship set, sounds, and a cool idea for the zone.
also need a settings editor. know of any?
thanks for the help!!! |

| If you remove the anti-aliased pixels around the ships, they will not have a smooth looking edge when drawn on the black background of "space". |

well that makes you a hero in my book.
oh i dont have any books....anyway
email me 1500@caribsurf.com
icq : 5398443. i use trilliam im always on.
msn aussidan@hotmail.com
will be off tonight due to unwanted social activity.
i only want you to email so i can send you a screen cap of what i want. i actually tried really hard to do what i want, but due to lack of patience, time for someone with my lack of skill.....and creativity, im not artist..... i gave up after 2 hours and something which looked like a map of bart simpsons face.
however at least i have a great ship set i created... all st ships...and excellent sounds from the paramount library itself heeh, so the involvement and immersion is there, just need the map for my theme now.
if you cant email me, and its allowed ill post the screenshot here, but id rather not make the thread a 'design map thread'
if you want you can post your email and ill email you first. |
