By request, I've added an RSS feed to these forums. What can you do with it?
Documentation wrote:
For URL's the following arguments may be optionally passed (as applicable):

f=x - forum id. Use data only from this forum to output RSS.
t=1 - only new topics (first messages in topic). Default - 0.
c=x - feed items count. Default and maximum value is 25.
topic=x - view topic 'x' only
nolimit - turn off "If-Modified-Since" record limit (by default)
styled - use XSLT style for RSS feed
atom - generate atom 0.3 feed instead of rss 2.0
login - turn WWW-Authenticate on. May not work on some hosts.
uid=x - set user id for WWW-Authenticate. Use it instead of "login" for Opera or Mozilla for cyrillic nicknames. You could than use any text for login but correct password in dialog box.

Examples of Usage and Syntax:
rss.php
Last 25 or less messages from public forums

rss.php?login&atom
Last 25 records from allowed forums in Atom 0.3 format

rss.php?login&f=1&c=10
Last 10 records from private forum number 1

The mod included a simple RSS linker in the <head> tags, so those on Firefox will now notice the little RSS icon in their address bar. By default, it will just be a link to the whole-forum's RSS feed, unless you are viewing a specific forum. Then it will be just that forum. Viewing a topic will have a link to the whole forums, not that topic or that forum. I'm too lazy to change it, because if you want a specific topic, you can read above how to do it.

Say you really want to watch the Flaming pit of hell topic. A simple link to rss.php?topic=5240 will keep you updated.

I'm going to give the RSS feeds a try. It attempts to cache them for 15 minutes (so don't bother trying to update it more often than that), but I have my doubts.

Yes! Just what I always wanted.

Coolness. I never used RSS feeds before, but now I can actually let software automatically find me a new topic to waste time on!

Hey, uhm, I'm starting to get interested in a few feeds.
MGB forums and a few blogs.

I'd like a fancy RSS reader for Windows and for Linux though.

I don't want a third-party webservice.
Anything you can recommend?

I might just parse a few websites with PHP and have my own homepage show the content however I want it. sa_tongue.gif

Thunderbird and Outlook do good with RSS feeds. Inside Firefox, I use Sage.

I never even bothered to really learn what RSS feeds were. I know a little bit, and I accidentally signed up with one, apparently Opera can handle them internally. I need to go read more about them. >_>
