When I try to use the formatting buttons in Firefox here, it drops the start tag at the end of my text regardless of cursor position or selection, but puts no end tag. When I submit, it adds an arbitrary end tag. I do not have this problem on other phpBB forums. _________________ 4,691 irradiated haggis! |

I've noticed this myself so I've just stopped using the buttons and enter the phpBB code myself... _________________ Performance is often the art of cheating carefully. - James Gosling |

If I wanted to click down 3 levels of menu to get bold, I'd just freaking type [ b ]. |

Thus, I hate javascript.
I find it quicker just to type the stuff instead of switching from the keyboard to mouse, personally. _________________ This help is informational only. When you press it once it turns on [quote]... and puts a start by the button. Then, when you're done with your quote press it again and it ends the quote... or if you forget to end your quote it will end it for you, what a great feature.
I agree, I'd rather select text and press quote. _________________ SubSpace Discretion: A Third Generation SubSpace Client |

Aye, select-text and press quote; but it just doesn't work correctly. |

If the phpbb guys every redesign the javascript, I'll throw it up here. But as of now, they don't do an insert with it.
You can thank IE for setting a good non-standard that people have to follow so that 95% of the users won't bitch. |
