This seems ot be a new issue. I've never seen it before.

When you click on the line of a topic, but not the text itself, it usually takes you to the last read post (usually the last page). But I'm starting to get cases where it takes be to page 1 out of 5.

I'm always logged in when i come here, so I know cookies are working.

I get occasional glitches with the newest post link myself. Usually it has issues if I visit again before my session has expired.

I noticed that too, it goes to the newest post at the time the session started I think.

The way the sessions and cookies work, is that it keeps track from the start of the session. So if someone posts again before the session is over, it will only remember the first post since your session began.

If I remember later during one of my "time to do something" type of moods, I'll look into it more to see if I can force it to update the sessions correctly.

The Page 1 problem might be your browser is displaying a cached page (hitting Back for example) in which it still thinks it should view the newest post, but your session has already timed out and restarted, thus there is no newest post anymore.
