Is there a way to read the server.cfg settings for another zone? I want to copy the settings for 1 ship from 1 zone and 2 settings for another ship in another zone. I've been trying to guesstimate them but unsuccessfully so far. The rest of my ship settings are unique |

I asked the same question inside a zone. Ask one of the sysops in the zone you want the settings from if you could have the .cfg. |

the only way you could do that would be to become owner of a subarena cloned from the pub, and download the settings |

Or spawn a bot there and harness the settings out of the 4 settings packets that will arrive per ship. Then just have the bot get in all 9 ships and itll be stolen, mostly. The rest of the things that arent transmitted are server side and figure-outable. _________________ There are no stupid question, but there are many inquisitive idiots.

Whatever. Ive never dealt with haveing to ship change a bot or really deal with the settings. I assumed that since there was shipchange limit for a reason, large ammount of data that needs to be sent.
Either way, still stealable, still unknowable. |

You could presumably using softice access to the settings that the zone downloads to your memory and use some asp to translate the assembler data to a text settings layout.
Naturally, this would require a high level of assembly knowledge.
Best way is to ask the owner for the settings.
If they can't provide, guess-timate would be your best course of action. |
