Here are a few things that are different in my server.ini:
[Billing]
IP=localhost
[Directory]
IP=sscentral.subspace.inet.fi,sscentral.sscuservers.net
Port=4991 |
You might want to change your staff passwords if the ones you posted are the real ones. Also:
[Validation]
CheckMod=1
CheckSMod=1
CheckSysop=1 |
Put the names of your staff in moderate.txt, smod.txt and sysop.txt (smods and sysops will still need to use the passwords).
If it is red in your zone list I assume you added a custom entry, make sure the IP and port in zone.dat are correct (you probably want to use your local IP, usually 127.0.0.1 or 192.168.0.1). |

You need to add a custom zone from the "Zones" menu. Its port should be your [misc] port, and its IP should be your LAN IP. _________________ Hyperspace Owner

As battle+ asked, did you forward your ports?

Uhh, If you dont have a linksys router and you have access to your router then you can go to the zone website, shut the firewall and open the desired port.
CAUTION: Closing down the firewall means letting virus in. (picture a giant wall of fire. If a virus got near it, it would burn into a nice crispy black pile of ashes you can recycle (j/k). But if you drop the firewall, these purplish-green virus come and raid your kingdom (a.ka. computer) So BEWARE! |

my router for ADSL (yes i have ADSL now!) has a setup webpage, but to go to it u need to be able to access it. i.e. u need the password to get in. if u can get in then look around in the setup pages for anything related to port forwarding and change it to let your server port be forwarded (i think) and billing port if its not running on ur comp but exterior to ur network or computer.
If i'm not right somewhere plz someone fill in the blanks _________________ Owner of CSAU Administration

Uh huh... Yea do what he said and open the port. So lets your port in your [Misc] is 7500 then go to the setup page and open the port 7500 so your computer can use it. |

Only way is to open the port you run the server on for communication and foreward the coming packets to your computer.
As said, this leaves the entire computer system comprised for attacks. |
