It is not random humor, it has a reason behind it. Sometimes people learn better if they have to dig for the truth instead of being told it. But one thing you could be told, is about image formats.

I've always wondered why PNG's weren't always used. I mean, if I'm correct, they're lossless and take up less space than .gif and .jpeg? Although, I don't think you can do animations with .pngs like you can .gif, but you know.... for everything ELSE. So I suppose I'll read that article when I get a break.

@Animate: JPG take up less space for photographs.

I would think that you, Cyan, of all people, would associate your loved C++ speed with smaller file sizes (and hence faster downloads).

Someone needs to come up with a combination PNG/JPG that uses JPG on the JPG-ish areas and PNG on the PNG-ish areas. Perfect for screenshots.

I think theres an animated png format called mng.
