A cheap way is to edit the hosts file. I don't want to explain right now, so search google for it.

I will explain it for you.
Open a file called "host" with notepad.

WindowsXP
FileLocation= C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC

Windows 2000
FileLocation= C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC

Windows 98/ME
FileLocation= C:\WINDOWS\

Add this to your file:
Code: Show/Hide

127.0.0.1          yahoo.com

My file looks like this:
Code: Show/Hide

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # source server
#       38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # x client host

127.0.0.1       localhost
127.0.0.1       media.fastclick.net
127.0.0.1       yahoo.com
127.0.0.1       enhance.com
127.0.0.1       primaryads.com
127.0.0.1       catid.ssihosting.com

This works for any browser since its blocking the connection from your whole pc.

Good luck.

Yes, but the person wanting this is using firefox. This works with all browser. So please refer to this next time someone need help. Who uses IE anyways?

If you haven't already, download Mozilla FireFox from http://www.Mozilla.com
You can get great extentions and themes. It is very nice. Opera has a gay guy on the main page plus it looks too plain. So Firefox is better.

Hope this helps.

don't diss opera, its a good brower. firefox stole many its best features from it. tabbed browsing was in opera in the netscape era (ie before firefox)
