Hey fellas came across a annoying issue :X
I have a Satellite Toshiba Pro 6100, and recently water spilled on it. I quickly dried off what I could and unassembled it drying out all the pieces, though the motherboard it self was WET. I plugged in the power cable a week later and orange light blinked booted up and had the "Bad RTC and Check sum error†and sound as it failed and shutoff.
When I dissembled the laptop and resembled it a few days later I poped in the AC jack and the laptop wouldn't boot up, sounding like there was no POWER being sent to laptop, I checked all the connections, and even the one on the motherboard near the heat sync, re placed them all were fit in their sockets and yet no cigar.
So my question is what should I do now? Is this a power port issue or the issue on the mother board?
Thanks. _________________ X-SSCI Halo CTF Administrator

Yeah. Try putting a different one in and see if it works then. If you can't or don't want to, well I dunno. I've always kept liquids far away from my electronics. I really miss that old cd player... |

What you should have done, next to drying all components, was removing the battery cell(s).
I'd assume the motherboard is pretty much dead now.
Even though Toshiba's tech support (here) is a joke, you should return it.
I always have a bottle of water under my desk. I always make sure whatever I drink can't reach my hardware by putting the hardware higher. |

It powered on when it was "wet" but when I let it dry for a few days it died. Also when I opend the laptop it was dry as a bone (or seemed to be). |

I think you went wrong when u disassembled it. If it was still working why disassemble?

I disassembled it becuase it would power on give me a RTC battery error and then would sound like it was booting but failed too, as if power supply failed.
And yes I had AC plugged in |
