The Apache

paint.net is the best editor i've ever used.
it's very simple and easy to use, and very nice plugins made by other people.

you can find more plugins here.

i think it's better than photoshop purely because paint.net is a scaled down version, faster, and you can easily design your own plugins for people to use.

i use the gimp but the UI is horrible.

I'll download paint.net and give it a try

I'm not going to use paint.net until I figure out how to make it so when I exit Virtual PC it deletes all my changes instead of saving them AND insisting on rebooting and running scan disk when I start it up again.

After a small bit of googling, I found a guy who was working on porting it to mono, you might want to check out what progress has been made since then.
