On the SSC Biller, what is the difference when someone logs in with ID and / or ID Data match? (1) or (0).. I've seen people log in with either one, and i'm confused? Are they trying to avoid or whats going on? Anyone info on this would be grateful

Most people understand the IP ban matching methods. The ID is their machine id matching. The ID Match(#) is a bonus matching feature. When you login, or create a new name, you send over bonus machine info.

For safety reasons, i cannot tell you what id is sent over, but all it is is a better machine matching method.

Ok, but what is ID Data Match, I understand that ID is your volume ID, but I am unclear on ID Data Match.

Its a bunch of other id's. Think of it as a grouping of things like your windows version, modem card id, etc, all put into a single value. BanG compares this value with prerecorded ones, and if enough of it matches, your it. So its like a smarter ID.

So if someone came in banned with an ID Data Match that would Imply that he is attempting to avoid? Or is it common to get caught in other ID Data Match Ban's?

Sometimes it can be either. Say someone who thinks they know how to unban themselves due to outdated unbanning methods follows it. They do the suggested new isp/changing machine id. They attempt to login, and get picked up on these previous matches of other things harder to change, or things unknown to change.

Or lets say you happen to get unlucky in that maybe a manufacture of your networking card happened to think everyone should get the same MAC number for it. If continuum chooses to use that as part of a self-id method, you might get a slight match with someone else. As a fail-safe feature, one match won't pick up as the same person, since it is well know that some makers forget that IDs on their hardware should change. As any person who works with large networks. Sometimes all the network cards came with the same MAC, which just screws you over big time.

For the most part, a ID Data Match probably is the same person. There have been some matches where it is proven that two people did share a lot of common matches, but those are as rare as you being elected president.
