Hello,
I am having trouble with my zone. I went to http://www.shanky.com/server/howto-zone/index.html to help me build a zone, but I seem to be having trouble with it. It shows my zone (StarCraft Warzone) in the directory list, but I add it to my zone list and it shows up red as it is offline... but the thing is even before I add my zone to the list I already have my Subbil.exe and subgame2.exe up and running and when after 10 seconds of it being up and running it shows that its logged in. So then I go to check my zone, but it shows up as offline. Is there something that still needs to be fixed?

Sounds like a port needs to be forwarded. You'll need to forward the port that subgame uses so that players can enter your zone.
For you to enter the zone without forwarding ports, you'll need to Add a Custom Zone. Put the Zone name in, put the port in that subgame uses, and for the IP you put 127.0.0.1 _________________ SSE Network Administrator |

Hello,
Thanks Cyan~Fire, that webpage helped out alot, and thank you Contempt+ as well. I got my zone up and I can enter it now, but there is one thing I still must cover. My zone does not show up in the SS Directory Zones list, and I need to know how I can do so. Everything thing else works well now. I just need the finishing touch and then I'll be open as a zone.
-Thanks Contempt+ and Cyan~Fire for your help...-

What does the [directory] section in your server.ini look like? (Post it here, in a [code] block.) |

IIRC, NamePassword is probably best left set to "cane".
Also, the port is set to 4991, I doubt they have a 7500 one opened for the dir-serv.
And if the zone is red on the directory server it means you're behind something which is blocking access to your subgame (either a firewall, a router not forewarding packets or both). _________________ Luke 10:18

Like cyan said... you might have a firewall or router blocking access to the server.
XP has a built in firewall (in sp2 the firewall is automaticaly turned on) If your on a broadband connection that is shared between 2 or more computers then you have a router and need to forward the ports for the server +1 for it to work.
refer to this post for help with port forwarding

I am having trouble with just one last thing on the list that you showed me... I am having trouble with the Server/Router IP. How do I try to find that... I typed in the IP into the Command window, but then it says, "Not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." So I need to know how I can get the Server/Router IP Address.

another way to do it is to login the router and pull up the DHCP list and look for the name of your computer in that list... it will have your router assigned ip next to your computer name. |

Gamedude, you don't type the IP in the command prompt, go to it in your web browser, it should bring up a config screen.
And just to explain things, because your zone is on the directory server now, you're accessing your zone through the router (as opposed to the local loopback 127.0.0.1 which shouldn't travel through it at all), it's blocking your access.
BTW, you don't need to set the NamePassword to "cane". It's only useful when you host multiple zones anyway. |
