I have the Periodic Message's set in the cfg but for one the same message plays over and over again with out messageing the others and two that every 20 secs it messages it which can be a little annoying. My question is is what setting do you use to set the timeing and I don't really under stand the help below it in esc+c because it seems cut off.

An example of a periodic message under .cfg would be "20 Welcome to SSDD Net.". Under the settings, there are 4 available slots for periodic messages, excluding the GreetMessage function. Anyone who enters the zone will receive the GreetMessage, and a # is not necessary because it won't be messaged until the next time you re-enter the arena. The periodic message differs, in contrast to the GreetMessage, by 1) it repeats the message in x minutes regardless of re-entering the arena, and by 2) there are a maximum of 4 periodic messages that you can input to the cfg.

Here's how it works.

GreetMessage [Welcome to SSDD Net.]
PeriodicMessage1 [5 Please use ?help to require any assistance from any online moderators.]
PeriodicMessage2 (blank)
PeriodicMessage3 (blank)
PeriodicMessage4 (blank)

Every 5 Minutes, the periodic message will appear in an arena message. If you choose to make it appear less frequently, then just increase the # to 10 or 15 or however minutes you want.

To add more periodic message, just put in what you want in replacement of (blank) above. Enjoy.

That won't work.

From wiki.minegoboom.com :
PeriodicMessage0 Info about this will be in explained through all 0-4 of these. Read next one down... To set it blank, set it to: 0
PeriodicMessage1 Must be set to this format: (Time for repeating) (Delay after arena is created) (Text)
PeriodicMessage2 Time for repeating will be after every X mins (60=1hour, 1440=1day), will display this message.
PeriodicMessage3 Delay will be after first person enters arena, it will then start this many mins after they enter. Good so they don't get one instantly for no reason.
PeriodicMessage4 Text will be the text. If text starts with a * (ie: *Hello), will act as a *zone message. If no * (ie: Hello), will act as a *arena command.

Thus, the syntax is:
PeriodicMessage#: [repeat time] [delay after opening arena] [Text]

For example:
PeriodicMessage0:30 30 Use ?cheater to report a cheater to online staff

In Halo, their settings for Periodics have no 'Delay Time' and yet it still works.

I think he used it as an example rather than the syntax. icon_smile.gif

If you're going to reference the wiki, at least reference a useful page. icon_razz.gif
