Post subject: Need help developing my zone. (Star Trek: Chaos Alliance)

I am working on a Star Trek zone and for the most part, i've already got a lot of things done. However, I am not good at all with bots or maps. Help with settings would also be nice, although I could do most of it.

What i've got done so far:

-News.
-Shipset.
-At least 70% graphics.
-At least 70% Sounds.
-About 10% Core Settings.

What needs to be done:
-Custom Map and Tileset.
-F1 Menu.
-About 90% Core Settings.
-Customized bot with Custom made plugins.
-Subarenas.
-Lvz Banner .
-File Size Optimization.
-Bugfixing.

Making a zone all by yourself is extremley time consuming. And I really need some help here. It would eb greatly appreciated. I'll list the positions below for certain jobs.

Map and Tileset: Head Sysop
Bot and Plugs: Sysop
Core Settings: Sysop
F1 Menu: Head Smod
Lvz Banner: Smod
Subarenas: Smod
Bugfixing/Filesize optimization: Mod

With the help fo this community, hopefully we can work together to make this zone a sucess. Let me know what ya think here. And thanks in advance for you're time.

And each time it has failed, or the developers gave up. I don't plan on working my butt off, only to give up 2 weeks later. This is for real people. If I have to I will run it off my computer for years. Liek I said before, if you are interested let me know.

Ok so, Defualt is going to pretty much help out with everything, I guess i'm making her Sysop for Dev. Although im not sure what to list her under yet, he will be credited for all his work and given a perm Sysop position on the staff Roster mabye Head Sysop.

Alright! This is a great start. So assuming he's head sysop, we have 6 spots left on the roster. Anyone who want's to help, please don't hesitate.

UPDATE: We really really need a mapmaker. The pos. is Sysop for it. We need 2 Main Flag bases, A Border, and if possible, A custom tileset.

Which series of Star Trek are you crafting the zone in the image of. I recommend DS9 as that is the greatest of all Star Trek series. (waits for flames)

I dont do to bad of a job with Lvz but my gfx skills are lacking. I wouldnt mind making your lvz if someone else does gfx. Right now im helping out SSCI Mystic Kingdom with their lvz for MK2. But its going to come to an end soon. Tell me if you need that kind of help.

UPDATE: Bad news. I might possibly lose my Head Sysop. Not much I can do since she's working on a populated zone. I can respect that she's working on many zones, but I need a Head Sysop who's dedicated to my zone, like at least stopping in for an hour once a day.

She hasn't shown up in 3 days now, hasn't answered my PMs via MSN, and apparently doesn't seem to care much what I decide to do, from what I've got out of her on PMs on this board.

It's just confusing. First she seems anxious to help me get the zone going, and now I never even hear from her. I mean how does that happen?

Anyways. I can't say I can blame her, not too mad at her, but I do need to think about whats best for the zone. And the zone isn't going to get very far with an inactive Head Sysop.

I've given her one week from now to decide what she wants to do. If she decides not to stay with this zone, i'll be looking for a replacement, nothing personal.

Default+ if you come across this, mabye you'll understand better as to why im forced to do this, if I hurt you in any way, i'm sorry.

EDIT: Didn't see your post above. Well it's because Contempt is having network problems atm.

#1 This person didn't even appear to talk like the Default+ I knew on these forums.
#2 I can't belive she'd say things like that, comparing her supposed personality now to the one I just got to know a few days ago.
#4 Nonetheless, this is a security precaution, and I will take action to revoke all sysop access immeditley. If in the event my zone is attacked via MSDoS, I got backup disks in a CD case on my desk. I make backups daily so don't count on me worrying to much.
#5 If it involves the SSC Council, bring them to this thread to see for themselfs if I have commited any crimes or not, It would be an honor to stand before the Council Mmebers. :)
#6 I guess i'm going to have to look for a replacement now.

But then the cat would still be a security risk. Mabye i'm doing something wrong to deserve this, but I really don't think so.

But if being a nice guy is the problem then mabye I should be acting more like Bill Lumberg from Office Space space and start messaging Dev Team members with stuff like: Hi there, whaaats happening? Look, i'm gonna need you, to work late tommrow, so if you could work all 24 hours tommorow, that would be greeeaat. We uh, lost some people this week, and um.. we need to sorta play catchup, mmkay? Ah, subspace politics. Back in the day when I ran my zone if you didn't show up for a week and didn't have an excuse you were axed. I never expected staff to spend every minute in the zone however I expected them to take 30 seconds and email me telling me "hey, i won't be here and this is why".

Whether that was or wasn't Default+ zone owners have consistently made the mistake of letting some obscure host have control of their zones. Gemini Dream, Confess, Lady_Death and now Default+. I wouldn't trust even trust these people with a news.txt based on everything that's happened due to their actions in the past.

I can tell you right now that the best option would to remove your zone and find a credible host. Most of these 'servers' are backwoods dsl/cable connections run by teenagers. As far as I'm concerned, I'll never leave the running of any type of server to a teenager. From the sounds of things, it doesn't sound like Default+ is a teenager however she sure acts irresponsible and there have already been several complaints geared towards her direction. I do not believe she has the knowledge nor the patience to be a host. She asks a lot of stupid questions on the forums that any host should have known ages ago.
