When a player dies, they send a packet saying who they died to, and what their bounty was at the time of death. ASSS assigns points, and notifies everyone, including the person who died, all the information about the death.
Which is why, if you ever been disconnected, and hit mines or something, points won't be adjusted, and you won't see death messages. If you apply the second method I mentioned above, ASSS is already programmed to deal with team kills, and the above method still is valid here.
So to do this, it is very simple. When someone does a freq change, you can hook into that, and send another freq change packet just to that one specific player. No security packets use player freq listings, so you are fine there.

If the team hits did work out, think about zones that have flagging games with bases. I don't think that'd work too well in a base.

or it would add another level to the game and work great. All you need is a way to tell teammates apart from enemies and it would work great. Perhaps use ASSS and rename the players so that they have a number before their name that represents what team they're on, or have a ship that only your teammates use, but only on your screen.
