Post subject: Question about small maps...
I have a micro-machine sub-arena in my zone. Even with small ships, low speed and slow bullets... I get very low FPS. I've attached my map... could someone tell me how I could fix it? Or what a no-no with the map is that's causing the FPS to hang so much?

I'm betting you have a tiled background done via LVZs? If so, I think I've found your FPS problem.

I haven't done anything with lvz's in the subarena except for the ships.

why would u even think a SMALL MAP of all things would make a bad fps? maybe its the tiles (doubt)? the ships? take out the ships and see if its fixed

You obviously didn't look at the map then. It is a small map, but that wasn't why I thought the FPS is bad; the small area that the whole map is played on has densely packed tiles in it, and that's why I believe the FPS is bad.

Well, test and see if its the map. Change the map to some other known good one, and see how your FPS do.

Ummm... errr... huh? Well I guess I should just rephrase the question, since I know that it's the map-tile density (and have from the start). Is there a way to get my FPS up again even though I have this dense map?

I think if you replace some of the tiles with mapobjects, like the road for example, your fps will get better.

1 big img lvz > small tile size img lvz in large numbers
in terms of fps

Actually, a couple of medium sized images work better than one large one. By medium, I mean like 600x600 size.
