General Questions - *warpto spectator

Ok you can *warpto a spectator to let him spectate specific coordinates. This works when someone isnt following / spectating a player. If someone is then *warpto doesnt have effect on him.

My simple question is:
Is it possible to make a spectator spectate some coordinates even if he is following / spectating a player?

I think you can do it with ASSS. I'm not totally sure, however, as I haven't looked at the speccing code to closely.

Well yes I can let a bot spectate coords, but my objective is to have players spectate coords when they enter the arena. If the spectators are already following players then it wont work.

from my experience, warpto-ing speccers does work, though I'd have to double check to be sure

Nope, the way to client is made, once it locks on a player, it will ignore warpto's and forced-position packets to move.

If they are free-floating, then warpto does work.

That's gonna be useful in the future.... people won't spy on bases.

Something better you could do for this in ASSS is to actually make it so they never get the person's position packets if they are in a certain area. Wouldn't be too hard to add some code into it to do this. Thus, you can have black-out zones in which no specs (excluding mods and such of your choice) can see them. Better than forcing them somewhere else.

Couldn't you just use a big black screenimage lvz if you wanted to blank the screen out?

But people can turn off LVZ images.

they can? o.O... i know there's the disable optional files but I thought that only meant to disable the lvl's from being dloaded with the + prefix in the cfg... oh well...

Yes, there is an option for that too. But there is a second one to disable all of them.
