There is a way to drag an image so that it makes multiple copies right? Example would be if i wanted a lvz image to spread across an entire map. Also animations, not sure if you have gotten that all sorted out yet, along with timers (timers= how long image is displayed for). I'm sure you have gotten the how the image is controlled + objnum and which layer its on all complete. Maybe have a console view so that you can see the energy bar and other assorted screen items -- useful if you are making something a screenobject. If a image is placed below tiles, make sure it shows up there
btw, Very impressive. |

right now i only have it adding single tiles/ lvz. it displays everything. you can scroll around the map and view all your images. you can slect images from the browser and those become the active image in the option window. you can then select all the options avalable for displaying the image...display mode, layer...etc. you can then move the set brush around on the screen and click to place.
im still working out existing object selection and editing. but this will most likely consist of A) a editing tool, versus add B) a form that displays objects based on the tile referace(objects are stored based on tile referance internaly in the program) and all on screen. something like that.
thats still all up for grabs mostly since all i have right now is mostly an idea or two.
there is a special grid which can be set at even multples of 16, and guide lines on the brush and tile tools. to help align things when your werkin.
might not be working for beta, but along side the tiles there will be a lvz tiles type window, any 16x16 lvz image will get added to this form. so you could use small 16x16 images for details on your tiles. and they would all appear listed together, like a tileset.
there is no zoom, but it works at many diff rezs.
its written in VB6 using DirectDraw7
so directX must be installed to run it
i plan on making sets of tools for both the lvz and tiles. the ones i can figure out.
the screen object editor, which im not going to worry about for a beta, will most likely be a form all of its own. showing the existing objects is a good idea. but i would more likely then not, just have it draw boxes or soemthing where those things are. rather then inlcude all those graphics in a resource file.
yeah i want the layering to be fully functional. ive deep in thought about how to do it. and ive thought of more than one way. so im going to try a few and see. but im going to stick with my rather overlly cumbersome way for now
believe me ide much rather just be making graphics and usign someone elses editor , how about our 2 pros? <nudge> if someone good at all this would make one, i would gladly stop working on mine, im no great programmer. conts been out for quite awhile now, and we are still multiplying numbers by 16 in our nightmares. so im not really out to best ssme or or any other editors.... just no more endlessly multipying, and no need to run a ss server just to look at your map. thats my main goal. beyond that....who knows. |

Layering pretty much 100%.
sublayer order determined by layer/orderadded.
A sample of a background type zone.
All layers and display modes can be toggled on and off.
clicking on lvz's on screen will cause them to become selected.

Before you release, can you please add one more simple feature? I type a word or phrase and it creates the graphic of that for me:
tree
rock
ninja
explosion
cool looking thing
pan galactic gargle blaster
