ok so i carry around a WD passport for school, and i absentmindly left the cable plugged in and as a result i broke the connecting usb tab. the HDD itself still works but i need a new one of these:

it may look fine, but thats with the broken piece on top, and its too small for me to solder, if thats even possible.

now i could really use the help. i am ok with having it temporarily plugged into my computer but i need a new one of whatever the hell it is. (btw it plugs into the data and power ports of the HDD drive and allows a usb cable to be connected if that helps?) i have no idea what i'm looking for or what its called, and i dont want to take a chance with spending 40 bucks on a broken hdd on ebay and still not have it work. i dont have the reciept or any warranty info as this was a gift, and since i've taken it out of its case the warranty was probably void anyways. any help is greatly appreciated!
btw the product number on the piece is "2061-701486-003 Rev B" although a google search produced nada[/img]

its a crappy camera. basically if you take apart a WD thats the thing that connects to the HDD and allows a usb cable to be plugged in.

And the entire thing needs to be replaced or just one piece of it? Something I did with a friend's mouse when the cord got broken was just directly solder the cable onto the circuit board, maybe you could try that?
And it's not your camera. I don't care how crappy it is, it can take better pictures than that. If it has a close-up mode (will have a flower icon), use that, or if not, just take the picture from farther away so at least it can focus.

Warranty? WD warranty information
Call tech support, ask them about the part. Don't tell them you broke it off at first, just say that it's 'not working and loose.' Then try to fenagel the part number, places to look, or even the name, that will leave you a better chance of finding the part. Oh, if you just say 'I broke it' you may end up with 'It's broke, sent it to us for this price.'

Seconded on the camera focus. Hurts my eyes to look at that.
If it's a mechanical break, why couldn't you solder it? Small is relative....
