first off you should convert your .midi to a .wav (wave file)
then it depends on how exactly you'd like to use it
if you'd like to hear it just for yourself in-game
-------
simply name your .wav file to bong27.wav (any number 27-99 & 105+ should work)
then place this file either into your Continuum>sound folder or directly into a zone (or arena) folder
if you'd like to make it a bong sound for everyone to use
-------
[1] simply name your .wav file to bong27.wav (any number 27-99 & 105+ should work)
then upload the .wav to your server
-if it's your server, just put it into your server folder
-if you're a sysop, type "*putfile bong27.wav" (or whatever number you chose)
-if you're not a sysop, you must get a sysop to do this for you
now set misc:levelfiles=bong27.wav in the .cfg file of your choice (server.cfg for public arenas and usually arenaname.cfg for subarenas [when using arenamode=0])
you can also "*getfile name.cfg", open in notepad, make changes, save changes and "*putfile name.cfg" or hit ESC, C in-game to alter settings
[2] you can add many bongs into just one file by using the lvztoolkit.zip
this kit can also be used to add custom placed and designed images and sounds in different ways and different places in your zone
you could also, for instance, put 50 or so bong files into one file named "bongs.lvz" and save space on your misc:levelfiles= list
post again if you have something specific you'd like to do with the lvztoolkit but are unsure how
-there is plenty of information included, however-
if you want to make a sound you can play in a personal macro message
-------
open your Continuum profile and click on "Macros..." - then click on one of the four "Wave..." buttons and browse and select a .wav file of your choice (there is a filesize limit - keep it small)
of course, make sure you have assigned a macro combination (eg "SHIFT+F1") to the Wave |
