It has been a while, but some bot scripter actually read the error message about needing to check a box to post as a guest user. So I added in one more layer of security that every spambot uses, but caused problems before: referral checking.

Before, I checked to see that users visiting the makemessage.php page didn't get there by a referral of makemessage.php, because there is no links to do that. If you actually look at the HTML code on makemessage, you'll notice a hidden forum field populated with your current referral to get to there. In fact, for at least a year or two now, the forums have recorded every referral done to create every post (which you can see done in this thread below the post-subjects).

As expected, a bunch of users have their referrals always set to block, which doesn't matter to me at all. But a couple of you in the past had your referrals always set to whatever page you were loading, which caused problems with making a post with this system block in place. So I had to remove it.

After seeing that the few users that did have that referral system setup have not posted in a while with referrals like that, I've readded it into the system. But it only blocks guest users that post like that.

If this causes a problem for anyone, let me know. It only prevents users from creating new threads, so guests that do have a problem, please reply to this thread without turning off any of your "web protection" programs.

Bleh... I stopped watching after the Asians went to America. The only entertaining parts of the first episode were the ones in Japan, so once they got to America I knew it was just gonna be downhill.
