Can anyone tell me what part of the .cfg file I need to change in order for the shift + up speed to work? If you don't know what I'm talking about, visit TrenchWars and press shift and up and the ship speed becomes faster at the cost of the ship's energy. I already know how much energy I want to sacrifice, but I have no idea where to put it! If you can help, thanks! |

Do you mean afterburners? Because I think you need to have AfterburnerEnergy higher than Recharge on a ship. |

If you notice, in those zones, you never get a speed/thruster upgrade green. Thats because afterburners are only useful on a non-upgraded ship. Using afterburners makes your ship's current speed and thruster temporarly set to whatever MaxSpeed/MaxThrust is. You can see if afterburner will ever do anything for your ship, by typing ?status and if speed/thrust is 100%, afterburners will do nothing.
A neat trick I've used in some of my own settings is to have your max set to a lower value than your initial. So when using afterburners, your speed could be set to 0, or your thruster set to a negative value, which gives neat effects. But you must make sure you cannot green speed/thruster prizes. |

Oh! Thanks guys...I had the initial and max ship speed set the same to the same level, and I tought I had the "Afterburner" setting correct, but it just didn't work because of the same speed issue. Anyways, I got it to work now, and I'm currently testing Mine Go Boom's settings . 10000000 eProps to both of you . |

i know this thread is old..but i have a question.
how does TW have it to where the ?status for speed is 100% but when you afterburner you go ALOT faster?
it was my understanding that afterburners would only work if speed was less than 100%, but in TW, they have gotten around this some way?
any ideas? |

If you set UpgradeSpeed to 0 and make MaximumSpeed greater than InitialSpeed, then the ?status will always return 100%. You can set UpgradeThrust to 0 too. _________________ ss news |
