Still requires VIP to enter the zones, and still is just a chat client.

Meh... not impressive enough to justify mass forum advertising, in my opinion.

Dr Brain, can you release the chatnet online src or set an ip and port to an as3 server for me and send me the compiled jar?

Hmm if not that can you guys lead me in the direction of how to connect to an as3 zone and read/send text :lol:

Yea Dr.Brain, Chatnut is really a nifty little applet. Too bad it only works for As3 zones. If we only had the encryption of Continuum we would be able to make chat clients and applets for every zone biggrin.gif

Surely you mean cheat clients for every zone.

There was a chatnet forum but wasn't used much and got deleted.
Anyway the spec is in simple-chat.txt in the docs folder of asss, or you can view it on the wiki:

Its a chat client. Great that someone made a program that can be used by a very small percentage of the population. Sure, its handy for sysops and other select users, but the target audience is so small it doesnt deserve to be mass posted on every damn ss forum -- its not that impressive. Especially when you consider the fact the game itself has a built in chat window that DOESNT require special access to use.

Had he made it login as a continuum client, that would be pretty cool, but its nothing more than a bot with a pretty frontend.
