I'm making a shipset for my zone and can't find the answer to this anywhere. When making a shipset or cutting a specific ship out of an existing shipset, does there have to be a specific amount of black space surrounding the image and does this blackspace have to be equal on all four sides? I don't want the ships to look lopsided or anything. Thanks.

no, but the center of each frame will be the center of the ship, so you usually want to keep it in the center.
