I've noticed subgame has been spitting a lot of <randomname>.log where it records the actual output of the command window to the file; then just like stops.

I've also seen like reliable.log where it stores some information i'm assuming about reliable packets..

and i've also seen the packet.log -- which meh, who knows what it does .

I think some of the packet dumps occur when the server crashes. This helps diagnose possible malformed-packet attacks.

Basically it keeps track of various packets that look suspecious to the server, items picked packets, stuff like that.
It's so the sys admin know if someone is messing around and who to ban for doing what.
Mostly useless stuff for the rest of you unless you're going to spend the time to decypher it.


Come to think of it...would he really take the time to disassemble INF and stuff?
And the stracture is quite the same...
I don't suppose it's possible that SubGame always generated packet.log when encountering suspected packets/some setting is turned on?

Well, nothing to worry about, you can't make anything out of it anyway.

They all make sense to me. And they all look like malformed packets. Intentional? Not sure. I know there was a hack where ppl would send incomplete banners. When the server sent the updated banners to all players, the incomplete part of the buffer was full of whatever was there before. If it was a login packet, then all players received the password for another player. If you happened to be capturing them, bingo!

Later on it also included overclocked packets (I have no other clue how to call it) from speed hacks.
