Hi guys! I tried to make a server with the tutorial on http://www.shanky.com/server/. I did every thing correct (I think) and I don't have any errors! I even get Re-read settings reply's (that's good, I think)... But... to the point. My zone doesn't shows up in "the" zones list. I think is is my router... but I (tried) forwarded the ports I chose (1336).
I think... this is information is a bit... hmmm... fuzzy :S but I hope that anyone can help me. I still think I did something wrong with the router. (I'm using a sitecom broadband router and have connected two pc's)
heelp.... |

Nederlands? Mooi.
Post de inhoud van server.ini en subbill.ini, daar zitten waarschijnlijk je grootste fouten. |

If you have control over the router, need to set it to foreward packets, DHMZ or whatever Azrael was talking about the other night at IRC.
Anyway, either that or you're screwed.
Could be a firewall too.
Tell me, are you able to be the host for any game? Such as starcraft/diablo/etc. IP match-making services? |

Same as above.
You are either behind a firewall or you are not directly connected to the internet and packets aren't being forewarded to you (or whichever PC which runs the subgame.exe).
There's no other way around it, either turn off firewalls/foreward packets, or you're going to be shopping for a host.
Be it noted that you may still ARE ABLE TO ENTER THE ZONE!
Even without the above, it's just that others wouldn't (except other PCs on the same network as you, be it LAN or VPN).
Inorder to enter it, use the "add custom" button in the zones tab.
Under zone input "My Zone" (or wtfever).
Under IP input "127.0.0.1".
Under port input whatever you set the port to in the server.ini file under the [misc] category.
Then "Ok" it all the way.
After done, it should appear in your zone list (alphabetically sorted, IE it won't appear as the last zone, so you'll have to look for it) and you'll be receiving ping times and player count from it and be able to enter it.
If you are getting an error trying to enter, for a reason other than the no connection one, try adding to your user's password the astreisk (*) and the sysop password that you set at the file server.ini under the [password] category.
IE if your password is 1234 and the sysoppassword is abcd then your user password will be 1234*abcd.
If you encounter further errors, return here and submit a report.
- I'm in a good mood (so don't ruin it MGB). |
