Well, its not quite a server issue. This has happened once before, and it resolved itself, I have no idea how. The internet works currently, AIM connects every boot, the zone list is always green, the zones ping as they normally have, and the 17th Parallel bots are connected from another machine on my LAN as per usual.
Continuum starts up normally and Im shown the server list. First I connect to 17th Parallel (displaying 20ms ping), it says "Connection to server lost." So, I try someplace else, like Powerball, and same. So I figure its a fluke, and reboot. Try again, and this time it says there is an updated news available. I click yes to view and it never downloads, when I cancel it says connection to server lost. If I click No to view the news, I go to the flying stars screen, and sit there forever and ever. I have tried shutting down everything, ending all my tasks, going to diferent networks, connecting to ASSS or SG2 servers, and all show the same thing. Once, and only once, did Powerball tell me my client was out of date and sent me to the page to download pr3.
The last time this happened I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail, the problem fixed itself one day when I decided to check on it. I can connect bots from this machine just fine.
Operating system is Windows ME, hardware is a Sony VAIO Laptop, current software is COntinuum 0.39pr1. _________________ There are no stupid question, but there are many inquisitive idiots.

Since you're on a network, try updating your firmware. Doubt that's the problem, but I did have a crisis like this before. Just can't remember how I solved it. |

Its not the firmware of any of the networked equipment since it worked for a very long time on the same hardware. No Virus/Spy/Adware detected. |

Ask your internet provider. Maybe they haven“t got any connection to those ISP or something like that. _________________ SSN Owner

They sometimes still say "Connection Lost" on an annoyingly regular basis. Powerball said client was out of date and downoaded the new html page successfully. I can get 17ths news and read it now, but when it goes full-screen to enter the zone it just sits there forever.
Its almost as if only the first few packets of the login are ever sent and then rest die away. |

I don't know, he hasn't been on for a while now. I'm hoping nothing bad happened to him :/...

Powerball would say that there is a new Continuum version update available, if you logged in with .39pr1, or .38... |
