Sysops have to *password to login to use server commands.
Moderators do not.
I've been scouring the config files, but can't seem to find a value which will make mods have to enter their *password.
I do have it set so the *commands are only functional if a mod/smod/sysop is listed in the corresponding moderator.txt, etc etc..
How can I configure the server so it requires mods to login as well? |

ValidateMod or something like it in server.ini _________________ Performance is often the art of cheating carefully. - James Gosling |

Actually, come to think of it, that section in the server.ini just tells whether or not the server will check whether a player logged in as a mod (for example) is listed in the moderator.txt. If that player in NOT listed, it will log commands that the player uses. |

I was pretty sure that mod's must enter the password in order to validate themselves to the server, which would then check the .txt... |

if you have validation turned on and moderator password set to nothing (as in empty space, nothing), and mods on the .txt, then mods will not have to do anything to log in
this only works for mods, smods and sysops must use passwords
subgame, of course |

Remove every name from the moderate.txt file, and disable ValidateMod (set to 0). This will not give any user moderator powers by default.
A problem with this method, is that if someone shares the moderator password, anyone can use it, as there is not secure list of who can and cannot log into moderator powers. |
