Ok, first go to shanky.com/server and download the server.zip file. Then if you want you can follow the tutorial as it says in the shanky site. When you open up server.zip you will find many files there, THESE ARE ALL IMPORTANT. Now make a folder called "server" in your Continuum folder.
Extract ALL the files into there. Now open up server.ini. Usually the directions will be there already so it will be easy to edit! Now skip down to [Misc] ServerIP= x For x put your local computer IP (127.0.0.1). Then under [Misc] Port=x put in any random number from 1000-30000 as x. It can be ANY number that another zone hasn't picked already, so make it unique.
Next go down to [Password] and type in the passwords you want for each staff member. (Passwords have to be entered as *password in the zone). Once you have done all that, go down to [Billing] and put in IP=x the word "localhost" as x (meaning you will host your server from your computer). Then also make sure you fill in your Scoreid and Serverid as the port number that I mentioned earlier, this has to be that same EXACT number.
Now you can pick a name for your zone in Servername=x (x = zone name). Also again, fill in the Groupid's and all other id's as the same as your port. In [Validation] put all "CheckSysop", etc. to =1.
Now save these changes and close the app. Then open up subill.ini from your server folder. Follow the directions there since it is easy to understand. Once you finish that, FIRST open up subill.exe. After that open up subgame2.exe. If the message on Subgame2.exe says Billing Server Connected, then your zone was setup successfully! Now go to your zone list and refresh it, and there you go!
Of course, this is the minimum things you need to do to start a zone. Also each time you log into the zone make sure you type in your sysop password that you created in the server.ini. So the syntax would be *<password>, with the <>.
Good Luck! |

Uhhh that really didn't answer his question.
Also, let me correct a few things:
- Scoreman.exe, user.dat, squad.dat, score.dat, odbc32.dll, odbcint.dll, subbill.ini, and subbill.exe are not important if you don't use subbill. (You shouldn't, use the biller on catid.ssihosting.com instead.)
- Misc:ServerIP should be equal to your external IP. If it wants 127.0.0.1, it wouldn't be a setting, duh!
- Your ScoreId and ServerId do not have to be the same as your port, it's just easier to remember if they are.
- GroupId should not be the same as your port, it should be a low number like 1. (But not 0!)
Now run your biller (whatever you're using) and then your server and check if there are any error messages displayed on either. If not, make sure your server is not listed on the directory server. If it isn't, check to make sure you're not using a name prefix (ex: SSCX) that's already in use. Also make sure the Port is set to 4991, and the IP includes the directory server you are trying to obtain the list from. _________________ This help is informational only.
