| Im having a problem with a arena in TrenchWars crashing the entire zone. It is a fairly large lvz download for people entering and I had the Start in spec set to zero. Someone suggested this might be the problem. Has anyone ever heard that could crash a zone? |

Large LVZs can easily cause problems with subgame, because they were a hack added to it. Whats most likely becoming the problem is that the server becomes unable to send/receive packets at all, thus causing the zone to drop everyone.
Are you sure its a full crash, or just everyone in the zone being booted? Checking the *log or subgame.log should show you. |

teehee, crashing TW are we?
Btw, I hope you figure it out. It probably is due to a large LVZ, or some type of invalid config setting; or even map.
As there was this guy who had over 255 flags stored into the map file itself; and tried running it; and I believe this was the cause of the crash. Or it was some of his weird settings.. .shrug. _________________ Performance is often the art of cheating carefully. - James Gosling |

I doubt it is the lvz. The worst thing I've encountered a lvz doing is crashing only the arena, and that was due to a lvl/lvz conflict. But, if you want some assurance, just attach a copy of the lvz & lvl (of course you should first save us the trouble and test the lvl & lvz with a default VIE .cfg).
Go through your .cfg and check for the regular problems (settings set to 0 are usually no-no's [prizeweight, radius, maybe even your spec thing]).
It would help if you could pinpoint exactly at what point the zone crashes.
If it's sort of a short delay after people start playing in the arena, then it's probably a prizeweight or spawnradius problem. |

| the default radius is 0, continuum changes this to the actual default(14?) although if you memory hack it locally it'll let you go though walls |

I will test it again @ SSI TWDev and see what the log says. There was no sysops on when it crashed it at TrenchWars.....twice. And I think we are all familiar with the 3 strikes and your out rule |

LOL They have a 3 strikes and you're out rule for crashing the entire server?! I find that rather funny. _________________ This help is informational only.
