my question is, how do i open a .lvz file? using the lvz tool edit thing doesnt work... it opens only some weird .ini files. what to do?

you 'open' a .lvz file using DeBuildLevel.exe (found lvztoolkit.zip)

the .ini file specifies how the image, sound, etc files are used while in-game
