Its sad, I figured I could possibly stop by and chat with a few people but it seems as if that it not possible anymore. I have never in my life been so disapointed in SSCI and Death+ particularly. I now regret ever having any involvement with him and the server. Allowing such racist biggots to use private SSCI servers (not on directory list but on SSC and hosted by SSCI) to spread a message of hate not only to the entire com munity but specificly to children within the community. Now I did not log the entire experience... I have a small portion that will share with you to give you some idea of how my breif return visit went. This game allows such hatred its unbelievable. I was stunned to find out my old friend Zim supports this as well. I have no interest in talking to anyone with such low morals as to consider hate speech the same as free speech. There is a big difference especially when we are talking about a game that is directed at children. Death+ will most likely deny this, but he is the one who invited me into this chat they are his friends he is in this chat every time he logs in and has been for many years. So have these racist morons aparently. This is shit he has accepted and is perfectly fine with, this is every day talk to him and everyone else in this chat which I wont name. This shit never took place when I was involved with SSCI I can't believe how much he has let it go. Anyways this the small portion of the chat that i had happened to log.

?find LiD reveals SSCI Penis, I can't believe Argyle would tolerate this. I sure as hell didn't when I was SSCI Administrator. Death+, Zim.. You guys are immoral as anyone can be, do not speak to me ever again. There is no excuse.

Personally i think that kinda speech is pathetic but i will defend people being allowed to say it in private. Its not a public chat if you have to be invited to join it. public chats are those advertised by zones and (local) chats. as for evading ignores and other things they are bannable offences in every SSC zone i think. Cross-zone spamming is bannable too.

I think its more concerning that SSC slots are being wasted on private zones.

As for all of SSC following TW in being family friendly... I have a serious problem with that. What you're essentially saying is SSC should take away free speech. I know it seems like I've gone really off topic, but I think it relates. The fact is that more and more people are spending time online, and there are going to be many people, like me, who are going to want to speak their word. I personally think that, in the future, games like WoW that don't give any rights to the players will die off, while games where people actually OWN the things they "earn" will get all the business. This applies to SubSpace because SS has always been decentralized, with each zone allowed to make its own rules. You can allow racism, if you want. You can even allow 3rd party programs. If someone gets netbanned, you can banfree them. This lets zone owners be tyrannical if they want(Dr Brain and Viligante are two great examples), but by the same token, just because a net op is corrupt, it won't stop a zone owner from being able to keep a fair zone available to everyone.

There's nothing wrong with TW being family friendly, it gives SSers who want a family friendly environment a place to go. But hell, even the KKK has the right to have a rally, and that's the way it should be. There ought to be a place on SubSpace where people are allowed to say nigger. There ought to be zones with unmoderated chat. I don't think it's fair to say all of SSC should follow any individual thing, that's how things become locked in tradition and die.

Thats mainly due to the lack of features in the SSC biller, the only way to make a chat private is to choose a name you dont think people will guess.

My suggestion would be to contact the zone people are spamming from. Cross-zone spamming can be punished for PMs, several people got a ban of some kind in TW for doing it during a TWL match. The onle solution for avoiding spamming in chats is to create a new one.

Unfortunately the SSC biller isn't downloadable so people can't even start a similar network on their own. So instead we should just try to make the current network better and make the rules more "monkey-proof" instead.

Brain's got a point. Besides that, you have to reregister your identity - admittedly it isn't that rough - and keep multiple passwords. It's really more of a hassle than just accepting some people aren't going to say stuff you like so just don't interact with them.

It just goes to show you you have to watch who your kids are talking to. They can say what they want on the penis chat, but if you find it bad for your kids to see, don't let them on it. It's all about parental awareness. Turn on logging or something.

I see both sides. Freedom of speech and what is morally right. The internet doesn't really have any morals anymore, so parents are going to have to do their job.

Its Argyle's server. D+ is just an Administrator. He is only where he is today because he just so happened to know Argyle and speak with him at the right time when 1stStrike lost his mind and quit. I helped build SSCI with hard work and lots of money, D+ has ruined it and turned it into some kind of open racism friendly server. We used to ban anyone directly from SSCI for trying to influence children with racism. Private chat or not, you bring that shit on our server and you were gone. If he would of stayed to the rules we had put in place and kept the fucking server respectable I wouldn't of said shit. I don't care if SSCC or SSCT want to support racism, but I'll be damned if I sit around and watch that is tied to my name be used for this.

D+ you either fix this shit, or I swear to god I will tell everyone.. every single abuse that took place by you and you will be removed for it if not SSCI being shut down all together. Now you can make another post, but it damn well better be about how your going to put a stop to this fucking racist bullshit your allowing to take place on the server we worked so hard to build up.

This would make it possible for a single billing network as any server could connect without problem. Of cource the only weakpoint would be keeping that central server secure.

There's a better way that doesn't involve rewriting the connection protocol. Just make 3rd party billers masquerade as a single zone to the SSC Biller, and be smart about how you handle things. Only use the SSC connection for authentication and internetwork PMs. Keep bans and scores locally. Handle SSC connection outages gracefully.
