Its sad, I figured I could possibly stop by and chat with a few people but it seems as if that it not possible anymore. I have never in my life been so disapointed in SSCI and Death+ particularly. I now regret ever having any involvement with him and the server. Allowing such racist biggots to use private SSCI servers (not on directory list but on SSC and hosted by SSCI) to spread a message of hate not only to the entire com munity but specificly to children within the community. Now I did not log the entire experience... I have a small portion that will share with you to give you some idea of how my breif return visit went. This game allows such hatred its unbelievable. I was stunned to find out my old friend Zim supports this as well. I have no interest in talking to anyone with such low morals as to consider hate speech the same as free speech. There is a big difference especially when we are talking about a game that is directed at children. Death+ will most likely deny this, but he is the one who invited me into this chat they are his friends he is in this chat every time he logs in and has been for many years. So have these racist morons aparently. This is shit he has accepted and is perfectly fine with, this is every day talk to him and everyone else in this chat which I wont name. This shit never took place when I was involved with SSCI I can't believe how much he has let it go. Anyways this the small portion of the chat that i had happened to log.
?find LiD reveals SSCI Penis, I can't believe Argyle would tolerate this. I sure as hell didn't when I was SSCI Administrator. Death+, Zim.. You guys are immoral as anyone can be, do not speak to me ever again. There is no excuse.

if you dont like what people are saying on a chat you can leave, its not like you are made to join.
All SSC should follow TW in its family friendly imo. (ie turning ?obscene on by default and watching public chat)

| you guys still don't understand, yes those guys are idiots that will never change but what im upset with is that is aparently common place and accepted by d+ on a daily basis. and that he's going so far as to allow them the use of private ssci servers to spread this message of hate from. i remember back when i was ssci administrator we would seriously ban you directly from ssci's servers for shit like this. since ssc were too "oh we don't give a shit" to do it. these guys were not only talking about this shit in a chat room. I had pm's, people evaded ignores.. and all from private ssci zones that d+ only keeps up to keep old slots open. i am completely ashamed that i ever had anything to do with ssci now. another thing, so what if its a private chat you guys are pathetic for supporting this kind of hate speach in any form. it was afterall in a public chat that i was invited by d+ to that chat. |

Personally i think that kinda speech is pathetic but i will defend people being allowed to say it in private. Its not a public chat if you have to be invited to join it. public chats are those advertised by zones and (local) chats. as for evading ignores and other things they are bannable offences in every SSC zone i think. Cross-zone spamming is bannable too.
I think its more concerning that SSC slots are being wasted on private zones. |

Actually, Doc, I would say(and have been saying) that it's a public chat. After all, if I don't get to moderate it, or kick people off, it's not a very good private chat.
As for all of SSC following TW in being family friendly... I have a serious problem with that. What you're essentially saying is SSC should take away free speech. I understand that zone owners and server owners should have full control over their server, and they do - they even have the right to say whether they allow for freedom of speech or not. But that doesn't mean it's a good idea to take freedom of speech away. This is something the creators of Second Life have made a big deal out of. At every Game Developer's Conference they speak at, they spend time talking about digital rights and digital ownership. They talk about how in WoW you might work to get gold, or armor, or things like that, but you don't own them. You can't sell them, legally. You can try, but if Blizzard finds out, they will delete your account. Certainly, as the total owners of their servers, they have full rights to do that. But the creators of Second Life have really tried to stress that it's just not a good idea.

I know it seems like I've gone really off topic, but I think it relates. The fact is that more and more people are spending time online, and there are going to be many people, like me, who are going to want to speak their word. I personally think that, in the future, games like WoW that don't give any rights to the players will die off, while games where people actually OWN the things they "earn" will get all the business. This applies to SubSpace because SS has always been decentralized, with each zone allowed to make its own rules. You can allow racism, if you want. You can even allow 3rd party programs. If someone gets netbanned, you can banfree them. This lets zone owners be tyrannical if they want(Dr Brain and Viligante are two great examples), but by the same token, just because a net op is corrupt, it won't stop a zone owner from being able to keep a fair zone available to everyone.
There's nothing wrong with TW being family friendly, it gives SSers who want a family friendly environment a place to go. But hell, even the KKK has the right to have a rally, and that's the way it should be. There ought to be a place on SubSpace where people are allowed to say nigger. There ought to be zones with unmoderated chat. I don't think it's fair to say all of SSC should follow any individual thing, that's how things become locked in tradition and die. |

Me thinks someone has edited these last two posts slightly. =P Which, just a side-note. Nigger was a term used for people whom where lazy yet take everything they want for free, or try to. So, technically, when you have someone who doesn't seed, but tries to download everything on limewire, then yeah you're talking about a nigger.
Just saying... it's in the correct usage.

Thats mainly due to the lack of features in the SSC biller, the only way to make a chat private is to choose a name you dont think people will guess.
SecoundLife is strickly for ages 18+ maybe you should look at the rules for Teen Second life, and see if they are the same.
