It just me, or is this board unusually dead?

Meh. Dead? Yes. Unusually? Not really.

It's very slow... but doesn't surprise me, not like any major developer's are coming out with anything new on a regular basis to enhance the game play?

I'm also getting tired of the "newb"-like users who post jibberish although MGB does a good job of cleaning it up before I have to read it.

Having a job that involves lots of dead time in which I can just read up on shit helps.

I'm working on a subspace API in c# (ie subspace network stack implementation). Not much interest has been shown in any of my developments, didn't get a single post or feedback on the linux port of catid's biller, and zero feedback on the directory server port. I guess people think they suck without even trying them out icon_sad.gif

The people that run billing servers and directory servers are few and far between.

I had one of those, and it sucked. I mean, it was nice being able to surf the internet and chat during work, it was just boring. I probably learned more programming while I was there(during my free time) than I have all my programming classes combined, though.

I think the problem is just a lack of developers and resources. I mean, a linux biller is nice, but to my knowledge, you are the only host with a Linux system(you should work on getting SSC anyway) except for SSCE, and everything they've got is on SSC. And directory servers aren't exactly high on anyone's list either.
