Didnt you make a miranda plugin to connect to SS?

If so, do you still have the source/plugin for it and would you be willing to post it? I would really like to replace continuum completely.

It is an ugly hack that connect to my CEBot to be able to communicate in-game. It didn't directly connect to the zone on its own. For the same reason I never released my core publicly, I'm unable to do so now.

It shouldn't be hard to make one to connect to any ASSS zone on the SSC billing server.

A gaim plugin would be sweet, but their api was way too complicated for a casual side project last time I looked

Yeah, I downloaded all the gaim sdk stuff, but the complete and total lack of documentation left me frustrated enough that I gave up.

Gaim sucks on windows though, Miranda (with some 3rd party plugins) is considerably better.

Hmmm a web interface. That must have been pretty sweet.

What is the reason you were unable to release it before (and now?)

Never set it up for public release. It has a couple of design flaws which people could abuse to let it do things it shouldn't. But that wouldn't take long to protect, the big reason was MERVBot. It was already taking off, so instead of releasing a different core, I help some of the mervbot developers add in all the extra packets they didn't know from before. That, and ASSS reached a stage where I'd rather promote user code running on the server than a third-party client.

So in the end, I added tons of fancy debugging features to it to allow me to use it more as a test bed than anything else. Thus, its current state isn't very usuable for practical bot developement, or pretty much anything except server/client developement.

One thing I am proud of, is that it ran on WinCE and had every feature run there. I even created a dll so I could use Dialect Standard scripts to be coded on the machine, which allowed me to add a WinCE chat window.

Do you still have the plugin source? If its smaller than some of the other plugins for miranda, itll probably be easier to rip apart and figure out where to start.

How I learned was I ripped it from an older version of BNet Messager. The protocol handling in there is pretty easy to translate to ASSS's Chatnet if you wanted to.
