When I try to go and double click an icon on my desktop, files, and taskbar such as internet explorer or continuum or McAfee It comes up as if I would have right clicked it once. I also looked at my folder options and its set to double- click to open an item....Any one know what to do about it?

Check your keyboard and make sure the ALT key isn't stuck down.
Check your mouse properties that they havn't been set for a left-handed person.

Is it a wireless mouse? 'Cause mine freaks out like that from time to time. I just unplug it, then plug it back in and it works.

Hmm, my sister has a problem with her mouse doubleclicking. She's using the Microsoft Intellimouse, and a few people have problems with those. So far, each one in my house has stopped working at one point, and we've had to get a replacement. That was after a year though, at least for mine, at which point the off-brand cheap batteries still hadn't died. So, I suppose it's a tradeoff.

Check http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com for any driver updates for your mouse. If there aren't, then have you tried simply rebooting your machine? It could just be that something didn't load properly.

I've been extremely pleased with my Intellimouse Explorer. I bought it 6 years ago off of ebay, used. Only recently I've been having trouble with double-clicks and the mouse wheel. I thought it was dying, but it turns out the USB on this cheapass mobo i had to buy sucks ass.
