Bot Questions - Is this possible?

I was wondering if this plugin was possible to make. Ok so say your in a arena and there are different teleporters that lead to different areas on the map. But wait! O no! Theres no room on the map so we have to make the other part of the map on a subarena. Is it possible if you go though a certin teleporter that the bot could instantly warp the person to the subarena that we choose. There could be many other warp points also. So do you guys think this could be possible? If you need any questions asked or add ideas please. Thank you.

If you can fit the areas on a single map, you can use safe tiles as teleport areas. This way the bot will see all ships enter and you can use *warpto to transport them to a different location. There's no way to force the client to another arena with subgame.

It's totally 100% possible with ASSS. Grelminar already implemented something like that as a test.

I don't know of any way to send people to another arena in subgame...

There is none, which is what Ekted said. Ekted suggested that that the seperate arena idea was overkill if you can fit multiple areas on one lvl, then you can just use *warpto.

But if the guy insists on the seperate arena idea, then he will have to use ASSS to get it done.

Notice that he never mentioned subgame in his post?

I would like to think it's 33% possible, since ss doesn't support *warpto and it can't be sent to other arenas.

Ok so there is no way to say like use the *say command and send it to a player so then he changes maps when he enters that area?
Maverick - Thu Aug 11, 2005 5:26 pm

No, currently not with subgame, as3 is the solution for that.

The fact that he was asking for a teleporter meant he was already thinking continuum only.

Anyway, with ASSS, I believe that some of the code has been already written.

you can just use the warp regions to send players to another arena, no coding required. You can make these using CLIT.

Ya that would be cool. I might use it if i ever decide to go to ASSS. But my friend probably wont want to go to it.

A friend who won't go to ASSS is no friend at all.

Lol. No its not really that its just he might not want to code everything. You have to admit that subgame is a bit easier.

Easier, but not as expandable as ASSS is.

ASSS is easy to figure out, if you need help then just post here.

Last time I checked, *sendto simply crashed the server (hooray for null pointers). Not a whole lot to figure out there.

You know, in your Profile, you can change View other people's signatures to Only once per thread. I use this so I can see people's signatures and correct those that I need to, but don't have to see them all the time. Otherwise, I'd be running as Never.

Also, it only uses 1/24th of my screen space for those images.

MGB, you geek. sa_tongue.gif

I just filter off-site images and the signatures is on "Never" in my profile.
That last one is a nice feature, heh. icon_smile.gif

Oh nice, Ive never seen that before. Did you add that yourself, or is that part of phpBB?

A feature I added myself because I dislike signatures, but I still needed a way to make sure people are not abusing them.

Lynx, nice.

I've never actually enjoyed surfing in a terminal, but I know that knowing how to do it has saved my butt more than once.
