How can I edit the F1 menu of my zone?
I have also heard that you can center and bold stuff for your News.txt file using RTF, but it didnt work out for me. All it did was show the RTF code.
Is there some way LVZ can help me with either or both of these problems? |

Open the commands.hlp file in notepad, check how it's done. There are some special codes for colors, pages, things like that.
So you modify the commands.hlp, make a custom one, and add it as a file in your LVZ, the same way as any custom graphics or sounds
I believe there are some help file editors out there, never tried them though... _________________ (Insert a bunch of dead links here) |

Commands.hlp , it's in your root continuum folder
Note that the help ticker can also be modified with Ticker.hlp |

I might recommend using the latest Commands.hlp file from http://www.hlrse.net/subspace/Commands.hlp for a start too. It contains all the latest on ASSS, Isometry, BanG, client-side and server-side commands in a consistent and organized format.
EDIT :: I think that latest Commands.hlp also contains some information on how to write content for Commands.hlp as well.
Quote: | //# [0/30] Documented Commands.hlp Colors
%pFlag Color
%B%%BB Blue
%G%%GG Green
%b%%bb Orange
%p%%pp Pink
%P%%PP Purple
%R%%RR Red
%W%%WW White
%Y%%YY Yellow
|
Remove the // in the first line to be able to see this page in-game.
Wordpad and Notepad are not the correct programs to use if you want to use RTF formats. Make sure your news.txt file is "news.txt" and not "news.rtf" or "news.txt.rtf". |

DefaultLevel is the name of the lvl file to use for pub... someone told you in another topic how to add files to a LVZ, with File=...
Not sure how to use RTF in the news file, never done it... but you could easily get in a zone with that, and then go to your continuum\zones\<zonename>\ folder and grab the news.txt there and check how it's done |

It's pretty simple. Write the news and save it with a .rtf extension. After you saved it, rename the extension .txt.* Voilà, done.
*Alternatively, open up the rtf file in notepad and save it as a .txt file. |

I added it to my zone, did *recycle. The f1 menu remained unchanged. |

You might want to read this again:

But yeah, make sure the filename is correct. Also, try replacing your Continuum\commands.hlp file with it (after making a backup copy, of course)
and see if it shows up normally (in any zone without a custom commands.hlp file) |

@Samapico
I checked the Commands.lvz file in Notepad and saw "test.hlp" in plain text amongst the gobbledlygook characters. |
