Last question was a bust so hopefully you guys can help me on this...
At my school, we are doing a project. It is pretty much setting up a network and having applications run and having everything run pretty smoothly. We are running a server that has AD on it, and another server that holds the profiles. Two groups are roaming and one group is mandatory. It is based on a small network so we are only using three groups, three users. The two servers are Windows 2003 and the workstations are Windows XP
The thing is we have a user, Student1, and he has his group policies and he logs on to the network through the workstation XP. This is all good and fine. But then we pull the ethernet cord and we log on Student1:password:AUTONOMA domain and he can get in. If we log on locally (autostu1, computer name), he cannot. But if we log on to the domain, he gets in. He doesn't get the home folders or network stuff, but he can still log in.
I told my teacher and he said that it is a registry problem. He is acting like our "team leader" and can't really help. All the group policies are fine. Cannot log on locally, cleared cache of roaming profiles, etc.
So essentially, the problem is that a network user can log on to the local computer using the network credentials with no network connection.
Any help is appreciated. |

I have absalutely no idea on anything in that area, but i will tell you that when i was setting up subspace server locally, i had to put localhost instead of the actual ip adress. don't know if that will help, but thought about it so i posted anyways . |

Have you tried using SSBilling2 instead of subbill?
On a more serious note, I'm sure there's a setting somewhere in the Group Policy Editor that says you can't logon without DC authentication. I'll check around and post what I can find. _________________ This help is informational only. No representation is made or warranty given as to its content. User assumes all risk of use. How about: Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options, "Number of previous logons to cache"? Try setting it to 0. |

The thing is, that you can log in WITHOUT the ethernet cord. So it isn't the GPO's. |
