Has anyone figured out exactly what the problem is with Continuum.exe and why various bits of firewall/antivirus software prevents it from starting properly?
Secondly, does anyone know what exe packer priit used and whether or not it could be unpacked and run without it (and moreover, if doing so would have any effect on the execution problem)? _________________ There are 7 user(s) ignoring me right now. |

ug, I think I remember overhearing that he removed the exe packer's header, but I can't remember the name. Look up some of the earlier attempts on wine and you might find it. _________________ SubSpace Discretion: A Third Generation SubSpace Client |

You could send the exe to the security companies and get them to fix the problem. I did that once when mine said it contained malware and they fixed it within a week. Otherwise you can just use the software's whitelist to exclude cont from being checked. _________________ ss news |

The problem with anti virus software is to do with them trying to use a debugging mode on the continuum exe. Basically if you try to debug continuum in anyway it will crash out. This is to prevent hacking. (i have managed to get a around this but i have no intention of telling anyone how i did it.)
I have managed to unpack continuum.exe. However the code contains a checksum which means if you unpack it, it won't run as the checksum is incorrect, this probably could be got around. by modifying the checksum code (duh). _________________ Rediscover online gaming. Well aren't you the little hacker. Why don't you cut the crap and just tell me how you got around it so I can run Continuum without having to uninstall Comodo? It's a pretty well known fact that I've got better things to do than cheat in a 10 year old game. |

According to PEiD, a PEX 0.99 overlay by bart/CrackPl.
And yes, I haven't the slightest what it means.

So then, pro hacker, what is it packed with?
Again, stop acting like the little script kiddie I suspect you are. If someone's already done the work to get around this problem, there's no reason to do it again myself.
@Maverick:
It's really hard to follow what he wrote, as he changed the steps from english to aim-speek halfway through. I assumed "rights" should be "permissions" (as that's the only other option with the word "change" in it), but that seems to do next to nothing.
Edit:
Doesn't seem to work anyway. |

Rofl, wow... you're right. That's hilarious... when you start off reading the post, it seems intelligent, but as you follow it down, it slowly deteriorates until: "DONT MESS WITH DIRECTX! NEVER!". LOL, I probably shouldn't have laughed so hard at that, but I did. |
