This happened awhile ago, but I was bored so I'm posting.

A friend of mine and I both got radeon 9800 aiw pro's last august. he runs windows and i linux. A couple of months ago he went through the process of trying to capture the realtime rendering of the Pipe Dream sequence into a video.

At first, he tried 120fps, but that was way too high (or so he thought). He tried it at 30fps, and that wasn't good quality. After some fiddling around in mplayer (linux) i was able to get the 120fps to run on my radeon drivers fairly flawlessly (small framedrops).

it's a 200mb file. Was wondering if anybody had tried this? Anybody want to see it?

You mean like watching a streaming video from the internet and using screen capture software to rip it? If so can you list the software you used?

No realtime rendering of pipe dream using ATI's exe. They made a program that lets you look at every angle of the sequence in realtime. Though, when my friend was capturing it he had to just do the standard angle. It still rocks.

So basically, a 120fps a/v capture of realtime render. Not the streaming video one available.

Hey, it's me over two years ago!
That was my first post here. Doesn't look like I've changed in the past couple years.

Today's my birthday, so it's a good day for reflection. ^^
Actually, there are probably a great many better things I could do with my 19th birthday, but this isn't bad. I bought myself some hot sauce for my birthday, and that makes me happy. Oh, I know what I can do, I'm going to go buy another one of those 3D Star Wars puzzles.

Wow. Hard to believe I've been around here for 5 years! After 4 years of college, I've gotten a lot better at programming. I should really come back and try more SS programming. It's hard to maintain my interest, though....
So how's everyone doing? The last post on these forums is like 4 days old. What happened?
