this is trash talk... not to mention a pathetically named topic in any board on the internet. BTW:
I got a 400mhz gateway with the same memory and a worse GFX card... im overclocking the cpu and running winXP and i can do fine, both in subspace and for some (simple) development.. so shuddup. In fact, my POS could take so many "faster" computers that others have bought: that it is said. Dont blame the tools. The parthenon wasn't nearly as equipped as Bob Villa, and it looked great.

| How can people use a res higher than 800x600? All the text is really small. Do you enable big icons and high-visibility text? (kind of defeating the point in the first place). |

How can people use a res lower than 1152x864??
That hugeness makes me want to run to the other end of my room to be able to look at it well.
And my old piece of wiring:
Pentium 2 350mhz
256MB ram
40+8GB HDDs
Some crappy 16MB ATI gfx card
SB Live value
40x cdrom
4x4x24 cdrw
floppy drive 
mouse
keyboard
some not-too-crappy speakers
17" monitor, goes from... ummm something very small... smaller than 320x240... to 1600x1200 at >75hz

Who needs text? I just look at all those colorfull, bright and shiny icons  ... Or are you using DOS? |

| 1280 x 1024 with small icons/list. I'm not sure if I can handle higher, but I like things small. Leaves more space. |

How can people use res lower than 1280x1024, I'll never understand how I can live in this res the moment I finally get 1600x1200, or bigger, much much much bigger....

Look at any benchmarks. As i havn't actually used the newest nVidia card, i've too heard that it is weaker than the newest ati card, produces much more heat, and is a fatter/uglier card.
Thats not really anything special. I have an overclocked Geforce 2 getting 200's constantly (though drops really fast once you enter super-setting zones). Whats really nice is never hitting below the 85 refresh rate my 21" monitor supports in War3 with highest settings on highest res, 2048x. Plus blinding people with the MX-700 is cool. |

Mhm, just scroll up and see my specs. I nearly have the same as you but only reach 60 fps :/ Is there any setting in Continuum (or somewhere else in my computer) that limits the fps  |
