I'm pretty new to linux so excuse me if I'm asking obvious questions or anything like that.

Trying to run wine or winecfg I'm getting an error with libwine.so.1. I tried the two methods on the http://wiki.minegoboom.com/index.php/Running_Continuum_under_Wine page but still no luck. Just for clarification this is the errors I'm getting:

Quote:

wine: error while loading shared libraries: libwine.so.1: cannot open shared obj
ect file: No such file or directory

This would be my first time using wine. Once I actually get it working how do I go about getting continuum installed/downloaded?

Thanks.

Hmm

what's ldd /usr/bin/wine output?

I get this:
Code: Show/Hide
        libwine.so.1 => /usr/lib/libwine.so.1 (0x40025000)
        libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x4003f000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40090000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x401c6000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

Read the wiki.

"If you get a libwine.so.1 error when trying to run wine global (instead of running the application from its source directory), add the following lines to your /etc/ld.so.conf file: /usr/local/lib and /usr/local/lib/wine. If problems still occur, copy libwin.so.1 to those locations from the winesource/libs directory. "

i88gerbils:
To be perfectly honest this is my first time working linux. Trying to actually get wine to compile was an adventure in its own and I'm not even sure if I did that 100% correctly. Running your command I get:

Quote:
ldd: ldd /usr/bin/wine: no such file or directory

I understand the error message but the problem is that I don't know why or where else it may be. I think one of the main things that I'm getting confused the most about is the directory structure and which things go where.

What distro? and can you run the wine executable from the source directory? What command are you trying to run when within the source directory.

I'm currently running SUSE 10. I tried running the command wine when I get the error. I also get the same error while trying to run winecfg

And you tried going into the wine source directory (where the wine exec is) and tried running ./wine?

Also, how do I install continuum once I get wine working?

You can run wine Continuumpr391.exe and that should install Continuum .39 in c_drive/Program Files/Continuum wherever the "c_drive" is for your wine installation. Mine is in /home/gerbil/.wine/c_drive
