Can someone tell me EVERY type of ban a user can be banned by? And if these values the users are baned by are in the registry? Kind of how a MAC Address is in one's registry?
Just tell me which ones? Don't get the wrong idea about this. Im not asking for the location of these values.
Thanks |

Lol! A MAC address is not in the registry. It's hard-coded into your network card. _________________ 4,691 irradiated haggis! |

If a MAC address would be in the registry, how would a router's NIC have a MAC? How would a Linux box do it?
An OS (Windows) can tell the interface card to change the MAC address, though. Windows keeps these values in the registry (it'll use the MAC from the NIC as primary value, though).
This won't change the MAC address of the card itself. To change the MAC address of the card (permanently) software to access the firmware data would be required. Not all cards allow you to do this. |

Rofl, Quan, Ekted is right, the MAC address is hard-coded into your NIC. If you want to change it, get a new NIC card. _________________ SSE Network Administrator |

Why do you ask about such topics if you're too stupid to understand the most simple part of the concept?
A NIC has a MAC address. On some adapters it can be changed permanently.
Operating systems can also claim a different MAC address (which will be located in the registry indeed). This last "feature" won't change the NIC's internal MAC, but your OS can spoof it perfectly.
Edit: Contempt+, that didn't matter, you were wrong anyways. |

Machine ID is what it changed in the registry. That is different then a MAC address (define: mac address). |

Things you can collect ("public" info), unless the user setup enough security measures to prevent it:
Windows liscence registeree's name/organization
Windows computer/workgroup/user name
Windows serial
Windows registery - anything in it which seems valid to bother to track
HardDisk/Drives volume, model serials
Processor serial/ID (if enabled in BIOS or whatever that thing people werw worried about some years back was)
PCI/BUS model numbers
Motherboard serial
Network adapter serial/id
WAN IP _________________ Replacing yazour untill the whore returns.
