Lately I've been playing around with settings files just to get a feel for what they can/can't do. (Read: I'm a total newb at this, just curious about some things) At any rate, I've been doing quite well with it all, but for some strange reason, I can't get any shrap to appear for any of the ships... Here's the text from my server.cfg:

[Shrapnel]
ShrapnelSpeed=800
InactiveShrapDamage=20
ShrapnelDamagePercent=500
Random=0

[Shark] (as an ex.)
ShrapnelMax=16
ShrapnelRate=0
----

I'm almost certain that those are the only settings for shrap, so I really have no idea what I could be missing here. I KNOW it's not a corrupt .bm2 because when I do *super the shrap works/shows up fine. Any thoughts?

I think the ships don't start with shraps...

Which means they have to green for shraps first.
Increasing the inital bounty could solve the problem.

Or, if you are sysop a *prize 1000 should do the trick (assuming you can green a shrap powerup).

Problem found. Ships start with nothing, unless otherwise set with one of the Initial things, such as for speed/guns. Shrap always starts as 0. So for a ship to start with some, it needs initial bounty, and in that initial bounty, it needs to randomly green one of the shrapnel greens. Whenever it gets it, the ship gets +X more shrap, where X is your rate. In your case, your rate of increase is 0. If you want them to always start with max, set your rate equal to your max, and once they get atleast 1 shrapnel green, they'll hit the max.

Quick answer: Set ShrapnelRate to a non-zero valud, problem 8 or 16.

That'd do it. My problem was that I had Prize:Shrap=0 - As I didn't want it to be upgraded, and thought that was the way to go. Aaaaaaaah... I feel so much better now. You've no idea how much that's appreciated. Thanks a bunch.
